To carry out this mission on a larger scale, we have joined forces with SteelSeries, the fastest growing major gaming headset brand globally. On December 14, 2020 it was officially announced that KontrolFreek was acquired by SteelSeries, opening up the next chapter in our book. This new synergy between two passionate gaming companies will allow us to both elevate our brands to the next level, helping gamers all over the world improve their gameplay. What is an acquisition?

Essentially, it just means one company has purchased another company. In this case, SteelSeries has acquired KontrolFreek.

What is SteelSeries?

While many of you are familiar with SteelSeries, for those who are not, SteelSeries is the worldwide leader in gaming, esports, and console peripherals, and the fastest growing major PC gaming headset brand in the US. We have been huge fans of SteelSeries, as we know many of you are, so the opportunity to join their team is truly exciting.

What does this mean for you? 

Pretty much status quo! The KontrolFreek brand will live on as a wholly owned subsidiary in the SteelSeries organization, so our website, social profiles, and creator codes all remain the same. 

What can we expect in the future? 

With the combination of our resources, there are many exciting possibilities for the future. While nothing is certain yet, we can share that both of our teams are beyond thrilled to see what the future holds, and we will make sure you all are a part of that.
